Boojiboo Apron Giveaway

I came across this terrific giveaway over at Kathleen's site Grosgrain -- and I just had to share it! These aprons are really cute. Head on over to Grosgrain: Boojiboo Flirty Apron GUEST GIVEAWAY for your chance to win one of these lovelies.

I am happily in the kitchen alot more these days, so I could really use a fabulous apron to dote around in. I am actually working on a few designs of my own. I picked up a cute black & white polka dot skirt at a thrift store that I'm planning to refashion into an apron. I also have some steampunk-retro concepts in my head, kind of kitchen-diva meets dreamy-alchemist. I hope they turn out as cool as I imagine them to be. For today I'm off to clean house, bake bread and price new items for my antique booth. The kids are enjoying the balance of chores and playtime, keeps them honest. I hope all of you are well and have a lovely day!

POM *is* wonderful

I wanted to thank the wonderful folks at POM Wonderful for the great freebee pack they sent me! I gave them a shout-out back in early March when I posted my 5 things pantry wishlist. They were listening. Remember when your mother told you to be careful for what you wish for, it might come true? Well, she was right (of course). My family enjoyed the tiny POMs so very much. I even stole one away to share with my good friend Kim who had never tried pomegranate juice before. I'm happy to report that she liked it very much! I had hopes of using some to make a POM vinaigrette but we drank them before I got around to that. Luscious stuff this blood-red nectar! Thanks again POM - you really are wonderful!

Catching My Breath

My blog has taken a backseat to all the doings in my life lately. May was a crazy busy month with the kids end of the year school activities, play practices, costume making, J'Daddy finishing up his first semester back to college after many years and me wrapping up things at my job. It hasn't sunken in yet that I am back to being self-employed. Guess it will take a few weeks. I feel so tired, deeply tired. I'm looking forward to a summer of new beginnings for myself and my family. But first I need to rest. Decompress and slow down, just a few days while to get my bearings. We're heading to PA for a little time travel this week; there's nothing like going back to your hometown to rekindle all the stuff you're made of! And then back home to hopefully hit the ground running or at least moving forward. Thanks for hanging with me despite the scarcity of posts. I promise very soon to be more fully committed to my dear little blog. See you next week, when I plan to roll out a bit of bloggy-girly-fun and my first giveaway coming later in June! Have a fantastically creative week :-)
